˙⋆✮ Silent Hill Nurse Distressing ✮⋆˙

To create the Silent Hill nurse, a base outfit was altered to fit the tight goal shape, and a belt was sewn for the waist. The next step was dyeing each piece with a modeled, brown tint, using various dye baths with the appropriate dye for the fabric of each piece. Once dry, the distressing began — Acrylic paint, fabric medium, water, and PVA glue were the main ingredients used to create the blood and dirt effects, applied with a spray bottle, sponge, and brush depending on the desired effect.

Creating the mask was more intensive. A mold was made using aluminum and clay to build a face, and plastic wrap was applied over the top for easy removal. Previously dyed muslin strips were coated in Mod Podge and wrapped around the mold in layers. Once dry, the mask was clear-coated and removed with a cut up the back. Lastly, the blood and dirt effects were added to match the costume.
